As it turns out, everyone was waiting for Saturday to come in or place an order: BBrooks sent over an order for a big arrangement, customers bought all the tulips before eleven o'clock, I was pulling flowers off of the display to save them for pick up orders. A good customer called last minute for a big dining room centerpiece. More mad dashing from the display to the cooler to hoard flowers.
This is what's left.
This is why:
And all through the bustle, Violet was enjoying her day out on the heat-register:
After a while, she decided to get REALLY comfortable and stay a while.
Violet, as some of you may know, is our oldest rabbit. Petals has snuggled up to the register a couple of times, but Violet's old bones really like to soak in the warmth. I gave her a peanut sesame treat: like an ice cold drink in a sauna: bliss.

Wow, that's crazy--but good--that you were so busy. I love the arrangement that has the apple blossoms.
Violet is so cute stretched out on the register with her hind legs behind her. I feel like doing that myself some days.
How I love those rabbits! As much as your flowers -no, maybe more......
Steve. Right? This is why I can't live without animals.
Rachel. I always think about you and Jane when I post rabbit news.
Violet's picture made me smile.
The thought of Steve stretched out next to her made me smile even bigger!
Love all esp. coleus leaves.
Jane, this could be hot Yoga we're imagining. Stretching, stretching feels so good!
Your flower arrangements are beautiful.
Violet just stole the show, she is precious
Thanks for the joyful post
I love the "what's left" display--it's beautiful. As are the orange/peach roses and poppies--I could look at those all night. Between them and Violet I'd be happy for days.
Gorgeous flowers, but wish you Boston florists would stop buying the world wide supply of ranunculus. They look at me like I'm crazy when I ask for it here. What is wrong with these people!
I am with Violet, tho. If you can stretch out on the heat vent all day - go for it!
Beautiful arrangements, Miss Shelley!!!
Helen. Violet does steal the show.
Jen. There's something poignant about a ravaged display..and the flowers that were left were all lovely too.
Webb, where do you live? There must be some ranunculus hiding somewhere!
Thank you, Marlowe. xo
Oh I am not surprised you sole out, the flowers are divine! Violet is so funny all stretched out, in heaven! Love Linda x
Violet reminds me of my cats. We don't have floor registers here, but at a previous house we had radiators, and they would lay right on the metal, with their paws dangling between the coils! Oh, bliss.
The bouquets are all gorgeous, and I, too, really love the "what's left" display. It brings to mind a kind of cabinet of curiosities arrangement, each specimen set apart in its own simple vase.
I love all of the arrangements...just beautiful. Violet looks like she's doing a yoga pose.
My first visit to your blog and glad I found it.
Your rabbits are the cutest I have ever seen. They know they got it good.
betsy
You have such a lovely blog here, great flowers, beautiful arrangements and I'm a sucker for a cute rabbit. Paul
